Titus Vespasianus
Son of Vespasian and Flavia Domitilla, famous on account of his valor, particularly at the siege of Jerusalem.
He had been distinguished for profligacy, but on assuming the purple he became a model of virtue. His death, which occasioned great lamentations, occurred A. D. 81, in the fortyfirst year of his age. Tomi or Tomis (Tomiswar or Jegni Pangola).
A town of Thrace (subsequently Moesia), situated on the western shore of the Euxine, and at a later time the capital of Scythia Minor. It is renowned as the place of Ovid's banishment.
