Allen, James Lane

James Lane (1849-), an American novelist. He was born and reared near Lexington, Kentucky, and has given most of his stories a Kentucky background. He employs a finished, rather elaborate style. His best known writings are: The Choir Invisible, Aftermath, and A Kentucky Cardinal.
