Anchises

an-ki'sez, in Greek legend, a prince of the royal house of Troy, and father, by Aphrodite, of Aeneas. He boasted of the favoritism of Aphrodite for himself, and, as a punishment, was struck blind. Aeneas carried Anchises on his shoulders from Troy while the city was burning.
