Bantu
in African geography, a general term for a vast number of negro tribes and languages. The other great group of negroes is the Nigritic or Sudan. The Hottentots, Bushmen, and pygmies are excluded from both groups. In general, the Bantu tribes inhabit that part of Africa lying south of the Sudan and Abyssinia. The Congo, Kaffir, and Zulu negroes are of this stock.
