Barege

ba-razh, a gauzy material used for veiling. It is woven with a fine silk warp, and a fluffy woolen or worsted weft, and makes a heavy veiling although a light dress goods, for which purpose the better qualities are used sometimes. Barege received its name from Bareges, a French town where the fabric was first produced. Cheaper grades of barege are made entirely of worsted or of worsted and cotton.
