Bayreuth

bi'roit, a provincial capital in northern Bavaria, midway between Munich and Leipsic. Bayreuth is noted as a seat of culture, and is the place chosen by Richard Wagner for Wagnerian festivals devoted to the rendering of his music. The town is pleasantly situated. It has fine buildings and a large local trade. Population, 25,000. See Wagner
