Bayreuth

bi'roit, a provincial capital in northern Bavaria, midway between Munich and Leipsic. Bayreuth is noted as a seat of culture, and is the place chosen by Richard Wagner for Wagnerian festivals devoted to the rendering of his music. The town is pleasantly situated.
