Capulet

kap'u-let, the father of Juliet in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The name is the English spelling of Cappelletti, a noble family of northern Italy, according to the tradition of Verona. Shakespeare's Capulet, a self-willed, violent old man, is the head of the family and is at variance with the house of Montague, another noble Veronese family. See Romeo And Juliet
