Corydon

kor'i-don, a shepherd in one of the idyls of Theocritus, and in one of Virgil's eclogues. Hence the name is used in pastoral poetry and elsewhere to designate a shepherd or rustic. Spenser gives the name to a shepherd in the Faerie Queene and again in Colin Clout. Scott gives it to a shoemaker in Count Robert of Paris.
