Gasoline

a light liquid obtained from the distillation of crude petroleum. It evaporates readily and is much used for fuel to produce steam or heat. Gasoline engines are used to furnish the motive power for elevators, launches, and automobiles, fan ventilation, and other purposes too numerous to mention.
