Gunny
a sort of cloth made from jute. It is much used in the manufacture of sacks called gunny bags. The bags are made in large numbers in India. The exports for a single year reach nearly 100,000,000 bags. In the United States they are used chiefly for the covering of cotton bales and for bags in which to ship grain. They are light and strong, but rot quickly on exposure to moisture. They are not sufficiently durable for farm use. See Jute
