Haggard, Henry Rider

Henry Rider (1856-), an English novelist. He was educated for the law, but has devoted his time to literature and agriculture. She, The Witch's Head, Jess, King Solomon's Mines, Allan Quatermain, Beatrice, and Montezuma's Daughter, are the best known among his novels. They are highly imaginative romances and full of exciting incidents, but are of no literary merit other than an easy and natural style.
