Hallam, Henry

Henry (1777-1859), an English historian. He was celebrated as a lawyer and was a Whig in politics, but delighted chiefly in writing. Two works, A View of the State of Europe During the Middle Ages and A Constitutional History of England, still have a dignified place in a historical library, but are out of date as authorities.
