Henry

a name common in history. Four Henrys held the title of king of Castile. The last was the brother of Isabella of Castile who married Ferdinand of Aragon. He bequeathed the kingdom of Castile to her. England had eight Henrys; France, four; seven German emperors bore the name of Henry. Henry I to Henry IV were kings of Navarre. Henry I ruled in Portugal from 1578-80. In addition to kings there have been dukes and princes of the name innumerable.

Henry J, king of England. The youngest and fourth son of William the Conqueror. He ruled 1100-35. He restrained Normandy from breaking away from England; restored many wholesome laws in England that had been suspended; suppressed some of the powerful nobles who opposed the crown; and has the credit of bringing the Norman and English elements of his population more closely together. He was called the Lion of Justice, and Beauclerc, or the fine scholar.
