Morris, Sir Lewis

Sir Lewis (1834-), a Welsh poet. He was born at Carmarthen, Wales. He was educated at Oxford and was admitted to the bar in 1861. He is the author of several volumes of poetry. The best known is the Epic of Hades. Other titles are Songs of Two Worlds; Gwen: A Drama in Monologue; The Ode of a Life, and A Vision of Saints. Morris' verse is easy and pleasing, though by no means strong. It has been popular, especially in England.
