Nereids

ne're-ldz, or Nereides, in Greek mythology, water nymphs, daughters of Nereus and Doris. They belong to the lower order of divinities, but had the gift of prophecy and the power of assuming different shapes. There were fifty Nereids. They were the nymphs of the Mediterranean. The Oceanides were nymphs of the ocean, and the Naiads were nymphs of fresh water streams.
