Saxifrage

saks'i-fraj, a family of plants, in systematic botany placed usually next to the rose family. Its members are widely distributed throughout temperate latitudes. It includes currants, gooseberries, bishop's cap, grass of Parnassus, hydrangeas, and other well known plants.
