Tarkington, Booth

Booth (1869-) an American novelist. He was born in Indiana. He was graduated from Princeton in 1893, and four years later published his first novel, The Gentleman from Indiana, which at once won him a reputation. Monsieur Beaucaire, The Two Vanrevels, and Cherry are other titles. Of these. Monsieur Beaucaire is probably the most artistic. If it obtained less popularity at first than did The Gentleman from Indiana, its fame will be probably more lasting.
