Ticking

a stout twilled fabric of either cotton or linen. It is used for bedticks, mattresses, pillows, awnings, etc. Ticking is woven commonly in stripes, blue, red, or brown. The finer grades are finished with a smooth and lustrous surface and are used for draperies and various sorts of fancy work.
