Whitney, Adeline Dutton Train

Adeline Dutton Train (1824-), an American story writer. She was born and educated in Boston. In 1843 she was married to Seth D. Whitney. She contributed articles and poems to various periodicals, but did comparatively little writing until about 1860. Her stories are for young people. Usually they are wholesome and entertaining and go deeper into the problems that come to girls than does the average story.
