Chiming Clock

A clock which plays tunes on bells, rods or by connection with a musical box. Church clocks are often arranged to chime on bells, while mantel clocks are generally connected with a music box. Fig. 94 illustrates a chiming clock made by Eardley Norton, a celebrated marker of musical clocks, who carried on business in London from 1765 10 1800.
