Adams (BROOKS an American lawyer)

BROOKS, an American lawyer and writer; born in Quincy, Mass., in 1848. He was the son of Charles Francis Adams, and a brother of Henry and Charles Francis Adams. After graduating from Harvard in 1870, he was admitted to the bar and practiced law until 1881. His chief interest, however, was the writing of essays on economic subjects. His works include "Law of Civilization and Decay," and "America's Economic Supremacy" (1900); "The New Empire" (1902); "Economics and Public Affairs" (1913); "The Theory of Social Revolution" (1913), etc.
