Amomum

a genus of plants belonging to the order zingiberaceæ, or gingerworts. They are natives of hot countries. The seeds of A. granum parad A. maximum, and on the frontiers of Bengal of A. aromaticum, are the chief of the aromatic seeds called cardamoms.
