FREDERICK ORIN, an American writer, born in Haverhill, Mass., in 1876. He was educated in the public schools and at Harvard Univer- BARTLETT sity. For several years he was engaged in newspaper work. His best known books are "The Web of the Golden Spider" (1909); "The Lady of the Lane" (1912); "The Triflers" (1917). He was a frequent contributor of short stories to magazines.
