It is on the Pennsylvania, the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern, the New York, Chicago and St. Louis, and the Wheeling and Lake important agricultural region. It has Erie railroads. It is the center of an quarries of limestone, lumber yards, manufactories of agricultural implements, stoves, etc. There is a library and a hospital. Pop. (1910) 5,209; (1920) 5,776.
