Boker
GEORGE HENRY, an American poet and dramatist, born in Philadelphia, Pa., Oct. 6, 1823. He graduated from Princeton in 1842; studied law; and was United States Minister to Turkey in 1871-1875, and to Russia in 1875-1879. 1871-187 His plays include "Calaynos" (1848); "Anne Boleyn" (1850); "Francesca da Rimini;" "The Betrothed;' and "All the World's a Mask." Collected plays and poems (Boston, 1856). Also "Poems of the War" (1864) ; "Königsmark and and other Poems" (1869); "The Book of the Dead" (1882) ; and "Sonnets" (1886).
He died Jan. 2, 1890.
