Bridge of Sighs (VENICE The St Louis bridge)

VENICE The St. Louis bridge, across the Mississippi river, from St. Louis, Mo., to East St. Louis, Ill., is regarded as one of the greatest triumphs of American engineering. It was designed by James B. Eads; was begun in 1869, and was completed in 1874.

He wrote the oratorio, "Mount Moriah," the cantata, "Boadicea," the cantata, "Callirhoe," the oratorio, "The Repentance of Nineveh," etc. He has set many hymns BRIDGE OF SIGHS BRIDGETOWN to music, notably Gladstone's Latin ver- educated at Eton and Oxford and besion of "Rock of Ages."
