Brooch
a kind of ornament worn on the dress, to which it is attached by a pin stuck through the fabric. They are usually of gold or silver, often worked in highly artistic patterns and set with precious stones. Brooches are of great antiquity, varied in form as much as in modern times, and were formerly worn by men as well as women, especially among the Celtic races.
