Cedar Falls
a city of Black Hawk co., Ia., 85 miles N. E. of Des Moines.
It is on the Illinois Central and other railroads. It has mills and factories CEDAR MOUNTAIN for oatmeal, flour, wagons, pumps, harvesters, brooms and other products. It is the seat of the Iowa State Teachers College. Its water works and electric lighting plant are municipally mu owned, and it has a hospital, excellent schools and a Carnegie library. It was settled in 1845 and received its civic charter in 1865. Pop. (1910) 5,012; (1920) 6,316.
