Corrigan
MICHAEL AUGUS- TINE, an American clergyman; born in Newark, N. J., Aug. 13, 1839. He was educated at the Roman Catholic Theological seminaries of St. Mary's and Mount St. Mary's and at the American College in Rome, where he was ordained to the priesthood in 1864. He was made president of Seton Hall College in 1868, Bishop of Newark in 1873; Archbishop of Petra and coadjutor to Cardinal Mc.
Closkey in 18C0; and Archbishop of New York in 1885. He died in 1902.
