Dixon (City of Illinois)

a city of Illinois, the countyseat of Lee co. It is on the Rock river, and on the Chicago and Northwestern and the Illinois Central railroads. Its industries include the manufacture of condensed milk, shoes, plows, wagons, wire, cloth, furniture, Portland cement, etc. It is the seat of the Northern Illinois Normal School and the Rock River Military Academy, and has a handsome court house and a public library. (1910) 7,216; (1920) 8,191.
