Elwood

a city of Indiana in Madison co. It is on the Lake Erie and Western, and the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis railroads. There is an important trade in live stock, grain and produce, and the industries include tin-plate mills, iron works, canning factories, plate glass factories, etc. The city has a public library. Pop. (1910) 11,028; (1920) 10,790.
