Forbes (WILLIAM CAMERON an American)

WILLIAM CAMERON, an American public official, born in Milton, Mass., in 1870. He graduated from Harvard in 1892, and entered the bank ing business, becoming a partner in the banking firm of J. M. Forbes & Co.

From 1904 to 1908 he was a member of the Philippine Commission and secretary of commerce and police in the government of the Philippine Islands. He was successively vice-governor and governorgeneral, resigning the latter position in 1913.
