Garden City
a village on Long Island, N. Y.; on the Long Island rail- GARDINER was founded by Alexander T. Stewart as a residential town. It is the seat of the was founded by Alexander T. Stewart as road; 18 miles E. of New York City. It Protestant Episcopal bishop of Long Island, and contains the Cathedral of the May, 1885, having been erected by his widow as a memorial to Mr. Stewart.
