George (Duke of Clarence and brother)

Duke of Clarence, and brother of Edward IV., King of England. He espoused the cause of Henry VI. and his queen, Margaret of Anjou, against his brother and sovereign. He married a daughter wick (the "king-maker"), and joined him in his revolt against the royal authority. Being taken prisoner he was r of the Earl of Warcondemned to death. The unfortunate prince is said to have drowned himself in a butt of Malmsey wine in 1478.
