THOMAS, a Scottish clergyman; born in Brechin, Forfar- Scottish shire, July 5 , 1803; educated at the Unicame minister of Free St. John's, Edinburgh. The work with which his name is chiefly identified in Scotland was ragged school system. His "Plea for the introduction into Edinburgh of the most celebrated of his productions.
