Hall (CHARLES FRANCIS an American)

CHARLES FRANCIS, an American Arctic explorer; born in Rochly a blacksmith, journalist, stationer and engraver, and, becoming interested in the fate of the Franklin expedition, he made two search expeditions, in 1860- 1862 and 1864-1869, living alone among made two search expeditions, in 1860relics and the bones of one of Franklin's company; and in 1871 he sailed in comrelics and the bones of one of Franklin's the Eskimo, and bringing back some on an "expedition to the North Pole."
