Hampden-Sidney College

an institution of learning in Hampden-Sidney, Va.; founded in 1775 by the Presbyterian Church of Hanover and incorbyteri porated by the Legislature of Virginia in 1783. It is located on a tract of land which has been increased by purchases given by Peter Johnson in 1773, and and gifts, so that the college now owns about 250 acres. In 1919 it reported:
