Harrison (FRANCIS BURTON an American)

FRANCIS BURTON, an American public official, born in New York City in 1873. He graduated from Yale in 1895. He served during the Spanish-American War as a member of the New York Volunteer Cavalry. In 1903 he was elected to Congress and was re-elected in 1906 and in 1913. He resigned in the latter year to become governor-general of the Philippine Islands.
