MINNIE, an American opera singer; born in New York City Nov. 16, 1852. Her first appearance was in concert in New Orleans when only 13 years old. She afterward studied with Errani in New York and made her operatic début in "La Somnambula" in 1868. She was uniformly successful both in the United States and European countries. She married the Chevalier de Hesse-Wartegg and retired in 1896.
