Heywood
THOMAS, an English dramatist; born in Lincolnshire, England. He lived in the reigns of Elizabeth, James I., and Charles I., and was educated at Cambridge. He composed HIBBEN wholly or in part 220 different plays.
Of these only about 24 remain, of which the one most admired is "A Woman Killed with Kindness," published in Dodsley's collection. He was also the author of "Great Britain's Troy," "An Apology for Actors," etc. He died about 1650.
