Hollingshead

JOHN, an English journalist; born in Hoxton, Sept. 9, 1827.

He was a constant contributor to "Household Words," "All the Year Round," etc. In 1868 he became lessee and manager of the Gaiety Theater. His works include: "Under Bow Bells"; " clude: "Under Bow Bells"; "Rubbing the Gilt Off"; "Ragged London"; "Miscellanies: Stories and Essays"; "Foot- :
