Johnston (ROBERT MATTESON an American)
ROBERT MATTESON, an American historian. Born in Paris in 1867 he received his education in France, Germany and England. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1889 and entered upon the practice of law. In 1907-1908 he was professor of history at Bryn Mawr College and later became assistant professor of history at Harvard. Among his works are: "The French Revolution" (1909) " (1904); "Bull Run" (1913).
He died on Jan. 28, 1920.
