Kirin

the central province of Manchuria, in area about 115,000 square miles. The western part is mountainous, some of the peaks reaching from 8,000 to 10,000 feet above sea-level. The eastern portion is a very level plain stretching to the sea coast. The mountains abound in tigers, wild-boars and panthers, while the eastern part is a very fertile plain producing millet, maize and barley.

Pop. about 2,500,000.
