Lodge (SIR OLIVER JOSEPH an English)

SIR OLIVER JOSEPH, an English scientist and student of psychiborn at Penkhull, Staffordshire, England, in 1851. He was educated in science at the University College of London , and on the founding of the University College of Liverpool, he became professor of physics. He remained in the post until 1900, when he was appointed principal of the University of Birmingham.

In 1915 he was appointed Romance lecturer at Oxford.
