Manitowoc
a city and county-seat gan, at the mouth of the Manitowoc river, and on the Wisconsin Central and s.; on Lake Michithe Chicago and Northwestern railroads; County Insane Asylum, St. Mary's Hos- 77 miles N. of Milwaukee. Here are the pital, the James Library, a high school, MANIZALES electric light plant, banks, and newspapers. It has foundries, machine shops, furniture, agricultural implement and shipbuilding works. Manitowoc was chartered as a city in 1870. Pop. (1910) 13,027; (1920) 17,563.
