MILLEPORA (-lep'-), in zoölogy, the typical genus of a calcareous Milleporida.
It consists of a calcareous skeleton with or laminar expansion, a foliaceous studded with minute apertures of two sizes. The colony consists of two kinds of zoöds, the one with four to six knobbed tentacles inhabiting the larger, and the second with five to 25 tentacles the smaller ones.
