Nelson (WILLIAM ROCKHILL American)
WILLIAM ROCKHILL, American journalist; born at Fort Wayne, Ind., March 7, 1841. He was educated at Notre Dame University in Indiana, from which he received the degree of LL. D. in 1911. He founded the Western Gallery of Art in Kansas City, Mo. In 1880 he founded the Kansas City "Star," a progressive Republican paper, of which he was owner and editorin-chief until his death in April, 1915. Theodore Roosevelt wrote for the Kansas NELSON RIVER City "Star" during the last few years of his life.
