New Ulm
a city of Minnesota, the county-seat of Brown co., 88 miles S. W. of St. Paul, on the Minnesota river and on the Chicago and Northwestern and the Minneapolis and St. Louis railroads.
It is the center of an important agricultural and stock-raising region and has important trade interests . There are manufactories of flour, cigars, marble, bricks, machine products, pipe organs, etc. The city has a handsom handsome court house, hospitals, and public schools. It is the seat of Martin Luther College.
