HARRY STEWART, United States Senator from Indiana. Born at and upholstery. The first malleable iron Bomited of leather Indianapolis, Dec. 31, 1858. From 1878- 1903 he served with the "Indianapolis Journal," beginning as a reporter and ending as part owner. In 1898 he served as a captain in the American Army in the Spanish-American War. In 1896 he was elected a member of the Indiana State senate. From 1900 to 1912 he was a member of the Republican National Committee, being chairman in 1907-1908. Elected United States Senator for the term 1917-1923.
