North Yakima

now Yakima, a city of Washington, county-seat of Yakima co. It is 157 miles S. E. of Seattle on the Northern Pacific, the Oregon- Washington Railroad Navigation Company, and the Yakima Valley Traction railroads. It is the center of a productive fruit region and also important livestock and dairying interests. It contains a hospital, a library and other public buildings. Pop. (1910) 14,082; (1920) 18,539.
